Overseas Mission

Our overseas mission emphasis comprises three parts: 

1. Support of Tranzsend, the sending and ministry arm of the New Zealand Baptist Missionary Society
2. Prayer & Self-Denial – an annual offering supporting our Tranzsend missionaries working overseas
3. A specific overseas mission initiative in addition to the above

We support an Indian mission based in Dhulian, on the border with Bangladesh. This is a project run under the JOYYA mission which was previously called Freeset. In 2021 we raised $135,000 towards completing a building in the red-light district to provide alternative employment for sex workers and children employed to roll cigarettes. We retain close contact with this mission.
